How It's Made
Hand thrown on the potter’s wheel. After trimming, the mugs are bisque fired. Then, the interior is glazed in a transparent glaze.
About The Artist
About The Artist
Linda Bloomfield originally trained as a materials scientist and worked as a scientific researcher at NEC in Japan and Imperial College in London, before becoming a professional potter. She is a designer, author, teacher and an expert on ceramic glazes. With more than 20 years of experience, she hand throws porcelain tableware in her West London studio and her work has been carried in shops, galleries, exhibitions and restaurants. She uses green energy for firing her electric kiln and recycles all waste clay. She uses china clay and feldspar from the UK and Europe, and as far as possible, tries to use ethically sourced materials.
